Allegro.cz launches in the Czech Republic, marking a new stage in the expansion of the platform and its partners in the region
  • Allegro.cz is a version of the most popular Polish e-commerce platform fully tailored to the Czech market. From day one, Czech buyers have access to around 100 million listings, including products from thousands of Polish merchants.
  • The company has introduced a number of solutions to facilitate international operations for Polish merchants, from Ship with Allegro methods and Smart! available for delivery to the Czech Republic to One Fulfillment by Allegro, which will handle orders placed by Czech buyers and offer fast export deliveries.
  • As shown by company data, around three-quarters of allegro.pl merchants are interested in exporting products to the Czech Republic with Allegro.
As of today, Czech buyers can explore allegro.cz, a local version of Allegro fully tailored to their needs and expectations. The launch of the platform also marks a significant change for Polish merchants, who can now start selling in the Czech Republic, using familiar tools and having full control over their local offer: the product range, prices and delivery methods. In addition, Allegro has prepared a range of functionalities such as the international Smart! programme or handling orders from the Czech Republic under One Fulfillment by Allegro.
A single platform, international sales
The new platform operates based on the “list once, sell everywhere” rule. This means that a merchant registered on allegro.pl does not have to sign up in the new domain and can do everything in the familiar sales management dashboard. Moreover, Allegro will help translate listings, convert prices and, most importantly, build demand in the local market. The company also provides ready-made logistics offerings with its Ship with Allegro delivery methods, which include deliveries carried out by popular courier services such as DHL, DPD, and Packeta. Allegro also supports its partners by sharing tips on how to sell in the Czech Republic, including by outlining the differences in consumer preferences.

The Czech Republic is a very promising market not only for us as a marketplace but also for our merchants. It’s an opportunity for them to reach a new group of buyers and grow their business on a completely new scale. I’m proud that we provide entrepreneurs with solutions that enable them to expand internationally and that we do it successfully, as already shown by the statistics. On its first day of operation, our Czech platform already has around 100 million active listings. This speaks to not just great interest in exporting from Allegro but also the appeal of the international sales tools we offer.

Alvise Favara, Chief Commercial Officer at Allegro

Launching the new platform, the company has prepared a range of solutions for merchants on allegro.pl. The company offers One Fulfillment by Allegro, a logistics service for handling orders placed at merchants registered on the Polish platform to the Czech Republic. Introducing support for international orders is an important step to address frequent questions of Polish merchants associated with launching their products in new markets. The most commonly named barriers to entry include returns management (42% of merchants), handling international complaints (39%) and language barriers in customer service (22%), all of which are fully covered by Allegro logistic solutions. Another significant change is the launch of the Smart! programme for deliveries from Poland to the Czech Republic and international returns, which vastly increases the competitiveness of Polish enterprises at their southern neighbours.

We’ll continue to expand our range of tools to support sales in the Czech Republic and our Czech platform itself. Allegro.cz is a very important element of our expansion, showing that we believe the marketplace model developed by Allegro over the years will also prove competitive internationally

The launch of Allegro.cz is another step, after acquiring MALL Group and WE|DO, in the company’s international expansion and ambition to become the leading e-commerce platform in Central and Eastern Europe. As estimated by company experts, the local customer base of Allegro subsidiaries in this part of Europe gives the company and its partners up to a few years of advantage in building its position in the new market.
All information for merchants who wish to expand their sales via allegro.cz is available on a dedicated page for merchants.
