Jean Charretteur joins AMG as MALL Group's new Managing Director
Jean Charretteur started his tenure as the Managing Director of MALL Group this week to spearhead the turnaround of MALL’s first-party business - one of the group's priorities.
Jean comes equipped with in-depth knowledge of retail and wide managerial expertise, acquired firstly in general merchandise retailing at bluechip chains Carrefour and Tesco, enhanced by experience in specialist electrical retailing at Dixons in the UK. During the last decade he moved from the position of Global Non-Food Commercial Director at Metro AG to toy retailer Toys'R'Us, where he took over as the Managing Director for France, Spain, and Portugal. Jean spent the last three years as Managing Director of UNO Hypermarché in Algeria.

The Allegro MALL Group is a great example of how fast-growing companies come of age and take on cross-border shape. I want to put my international experience to new use and be part of possibly the most exciting integration process in all of CEE e-commerce right now. Together we will make sure that tens of millions of customers across the region will have the most convenient access to the widest possible selection of best-priced offers,”

Jean Charretteur says.

A huge rugby fan, Jean is attracted by the same winning team spirit that is part of the Allegro MALL Group’s DNA. He will not have any trouble communicating as besides French, English, Spanish, and some German, Jean also speaks Czech and is already based in Prague.
The move also means that Jakub Střeštík will take on the new responsibility as Integration Director across MALL, widening the Allegro platform across all dimensions and supporting the new MD at the local level.
With this new set-up Allegro is readying for one of the most important ventures planned for 2023 - the roll-out of the platform's successful marketplace model in Czechia.
